Context & challenge

A full-year review needed a disciplined sequence.

The training file covered a full year of bookkeeping for a consulting-company scenario. The records needed review and cleanup before monthly reconciliation and report generation could be completed reliably.

My responsibility was to review and match transactions, correct issues, complete twelve monthly reconciliations, and prepare report views that made the year easier to check. One specific issue involved duplicate expenses created by auto-posted bank rules.

Process

From review to a documented result.

Each step reduced uncertainty before the next one began.

  1. 01

    Review the records

Checked the full-period bookkeeping records, supporting information, and account activity before making corrections.

  2. 02

    Clean up transaction issues

Reviewed coding, matched activity, and corrected duplicate expenses caused by auto-posted bank rules.

  3. 03

    Reconcile month by month

Worked through each statement period from January to December 2025 instead of treating the year as one bulk task.

  4. 04

    Review report views

Generated Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports on cash and accrual bases and reviewed year-end report structure.

  5. 05

    Document the result

Confirmed a $0.00 reconciliation difference and summarized the work without exposing account names or balances.

Redacted evidence

Twelve periods, one consistent record.
